Hello and Welcome!
A little about Dragaon Net's history...
I joined the internet community in 1997 and became instantly hooked. IRC
(internet relay chat) became the medium i chose to meet people and
make
some friends and immediately did so, I created several channels on DalNet which
became quite popular for a few years.
The ddos attacks on DalNet in 2003 made it
near impossible to get on the network
and the subsequent exodus of regular users
left
my channels and dalnet itself a shadow
of their former selves.
In the following years I wandered IRC looking for a new home and
found a few networks that were nice but very quiet. In early 2006 after
experimenting with
a few IRC server programs I decided that starting my
own
network would be a fun way to
keep the hobby alive and create a new
home
for my friends and a few friendly Bots.
With the registration of the dragaon.com domain, Dragaon Net was born,
irc.dragaon.com consists of 7 servers based in Canada and one in the
Netherlands.
Some friends from the Dalnet days have found their way
to Dragaon Net and
rejoined the family.
Dragaon Net is a safe, quiet place for family and friends to chat or share files
and open to anyone who wants to join as long as the rules are followed.
